Jiangsu and Shanghai overcame losing opening sets in their respective playoff semifinal encounters of the 2019/20 Super League to schedule Game 1 of a title fight, in two days at the Training Base in the city of Qinhuangdao.
As for Jiangsu, they beat Zhejiang in the match full of twists and turns to enter the league finals again after nine years: 3-1 (14-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-21). Yu Yuantai and Liu Xiangdong were tied as top scorers for Jiangsu with 16 points apiece.
In the other semifinal, the reigning champions also needed four sets to eliminate rivals – Shandong. Wu Pengzhi made 21 points for the winning side, while Zhang Zhejia was superb in blocking (7 kill blocks).
