In the last several years, the IRIVF used to create some sort of mystery when choosing the men’s national team head coach. As for the current selection, they issued an official statement in which they informed of choosing five candidates for this role.
The IRIVF President Mohammadreza Davarzani has earlier said that a famous foreign coach will be appointed ahead of the Tokyo Olympic Games. Some of the names leaked out a couple of months ago.
Iran Men are without a coach since parting ways with Montenegrin Igor Kolaković.

The names of the options for leading the Iranian national volleyball team were revealed
The technical committee for selecting the head coach of the national volleyball team, in its first meeting, which was held on Saturday, September 6, approved the use of a world-class coach to lead the Iranian team in the 2021 Nations League and the Tokyo Olympics.
In the second meeting of the technical committee for selecting the head coach of the national volleyball team, which was held on Wednesday, five coaches were selected as the initial options for further consideration.
Vladimir Alkeno – Ferdinando Giorgio – Daniel Castellani – Andrea Gianni and Lorenzo are the options to lead the Iranian national volleyball team.
