ASKÖ Steelvolleys Linz/Steg are women’s volleyball national champions of Austria for the 2nd successive time.

Linz

Linz

Last season, they were prevented from defending the Austrian women’s championship title due to the coronavirus pandemic but this season, ASKÖ Steelvolleys Linz/Steg managed to do so.

The team coached by Roland Schwab prevailed over UVC Holding Graz in the 2nd duel of the 2020/21 DenizBank AG Volley League playoff finals (3-0: 25-7, 25-20, 25-21), thus adding this victory to the one achieved on Wednesday in four sets. Linz are not only the national champions but also the ‘double crown’ winners as they beat the same rivals in the cup final at the end of February.

Katharina Holzer was Linz’s top scorer tonight with 17 points, including 4 blocks.
