In pool A Ahly Tripoli defeated Nahda (Sudan) 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-18).
In Pool B Sfax (Tunisia) took over Muzinga (Burundi) 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-9) and Borj Bou Aririj (Algeria) downed Daim Hamad (Sudan) 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-14).
Pool C showed Delta Spikers (Nigeria) beating Muger Cement (Ethiopia) 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21).
In Pool D Prisons (Kenya) hammered Nemostars (Uganda) 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 30-32, 25-20).
