Today in its 14th series, it is been for the third time that Tehran is hosting this tournament after two series of 2002 & 2004. Peykan, Sanaam, Saipa, and Kaleh as the representative teams of Iran have previously made records in AVC Club tournament, out of which Peykan is named the most honorable title-holder since this team could achieve 7 championship-title in 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 along with 2 vice-championship in 2000 and 2004 while holding one bronze-title in 1999.
Sanaam with a champion-tile in 2004 and a silver medal in 2002; Saipa with a vice-champion medal in 2005 and Kaleh hold a third-title in 2012 that is all the recording titlesin the previous years. Only in 2001, Iran could hold no medal; meanwhile, there was not such tournament in 2003. South Korea, the second team of the table after Iran is the most honored team of Asia that could achieve two gold medals in 2000 and 2001 while one silver medal in 1999. After Iran and South Korea, the third rank goes to Kazakhstan with one championship, three vice-championship, and two bronze-medal.
China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Indonesia that are placed fourth to eighth in the table could achieve at least one medal during the previous series of AVC Men’s Club Championship.
The preliminary round of the 14th AVC Men’s Club Championship started on 21st April with 14 participant teams from Iran, Kuwait, Emirates, Chinese Taipei, Iraq, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, India, China, Oman, Kazakhstan, Maldives, and Japan. This is the first time in the history of volleyball that 14 teams are participating in this tournament. The preliminary round is supposed to be held into 4 pools.

Pool A: Kuwait – Emirates – Chinese Taipei – Iran
Pool B: Iraq – Qatar – Uzbekistan
Pool C: Lebanon – India – China
Pool D: Oman – Kazakhstan – Maldives – Japan
