AVC M: India recorded the first victory in AVC Club Championship

As the public relations of volleyball federation reported, the matches has been started at Azadi’s 12000 Capacity Hall where in the first play of the preliminary round, India beat Lebanon 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 33-31).

The first and second referees were respectively from Kazakhstan and Iran.

The head coach of the India team in the press conference after winning the team from Lebanon said: “It was a good game, despite not being ready enough for this game and being tired. We didn’t perform what we had planned to. But I’m sure the team is more capable. We identified our weak points in the first match and we cover them for the next game. Anyway, this win freshened our players’ motivation.” About the Lebanese team, he said: “They are a good team but didn’t play well in this game and lost a lot of points in the first set.”

The captain of the India said: “We won our first game but we are looking for higher positions in these games.”

On the fourth set which took longer he said: “In the 4th set we lost many points due to our mistakes in defense which made the game last longer. We will reach at the expected levels of preparation in last games and will be better hereafter”.

The head coach of the Lebanese team after losing their first game explicated: “We arrived to Tehran yesterday and did not have any exercise at the gym. On the other hand, the players were so tired and couldn’t performed as expected. This was our first time of playing in the morning and the team wasn’t ready for this. Anyway it was a good game and we have won the match. We weren’t good on serves and unfortunately we lost.” On Indian team, he said: India has height players; they could bring us loss”

The Lebanese captain said: “The team was exhausted and came to the match without any exercise. We didn’t come along well with the atmosphere of the hall as well and lost the match.”
