Chile concludes with a 2:1 win-loss mark in Pool B while Colombia finishes 1:2 and will play for the 5-8 positions. The enormous advantage in service points of Chile by 11:0 was decisive for the win.

Catalina Melohad was the best scorer of the match with 25 points for Chile, while Amanda Caneo with 15 points was Colombia’s top scorer.

“We stayed focused all the time, even in critical moments; we hope to end among the top four of the Cup” said Chilean Catalina Melo.

Colombian Veronica Pasos admitted they lost because they pressured themselves too much, “Our lack of communication caused to slow our rhythm”.

Hugo Jauregui, coach of Chile was satisfied with the victory “We had to prevent Colombia from attacking so we concentrated in a strong serve which allowed us to have more control; without possibility to qualify to the World Championship now we’ll play the best Cup possible.”

“We failed in our reception and had too many errors; Chile showed they are better prepared than us and now we must organize ourselves better” said Oscar Guevara.
