Four coaches

The coaches of the four participating teams did share their feelings and impressions before a weekend where thousands of fans are expected to come together at Dudova Suma sports hall.

Gert Vande Broek, head coach of Belgium: “We are a little bit surprised with the first place in the standing after the first round and the three victories we could score last week in Leuven. However, I think we can prolong this winning streak here in Subotica”.

Giovanni Guidetti, head coach of Germany: “We will have five new players in the team, and we will try them out in this tournament. I hope we will improve our game as the matches go by”.

Arie Selinger, head coach of Israel: “We will be disadvantaged because we are missing a couple of important players, but we will do our best to win at least a set in each match”.

Aleksandar Vladisavljev, head coach of Serbia: “Our main goal is to qualify for the final four in Varna and we will try to win all three matches in front of the home fans”.

After the first round, Belgium tops the charts of Pool B with 8 points, Serbia and Germany follow with 5 while Israel is ranked fourth after suffering three consecutive defeats in Leuven.
