The United States defeated Algeria 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 28-26, 25-17) to open actions in Pool D at FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship.

Both squads played a very tough and tight match at Mexicali State Auditorium. Larbi Hadroug was Algeria’s best scorer with a total of 17 points.
Jacob Arnitz and Connor Lammey were the American best weapons. Arnitz finished with 18 points and Lammey tallied 17 while Karl Apfelbach scored 12 and Matthew Walsh, Jr. 11.
