In a match of up and downs, Iran overcame their 36 errors to 24 of Finland to get two points with the 3-2 win.
Iran totaled 15 blocks, including a match-high 5 from Allah and four executed by Hamid Hammoodi, while Finland had ten. Valaei served five aces for the winners.
Mohammad Javad was the main offensive weapon of the winning side with 23 points.
Finland’s most productive players were Samuli Kaislasalo and Sakari Makinen who each finished with 13 points.
