The Vice President of the Czech Volleyball Federation and chair of the local Organizing Committee, Frantisek Kopecky, did first welcome all teams and officials wishing everyone the best of luck for the last preliminary round. CEV Supervisor Natalia Kostulska recalled the special rules being tested in this year’s CEV Volleyball European League (each set up to 21 points with only one technical time-out at 12). Next CVF Secretary General Ivan Iro spent some moments to introduce the members of the local Organizing Committee.
After three rounds the hosts of the Czech Republic top the charts in Pool B with 21 points followed by Montenegro and Spain who have got 16 apiece. The tournament will start on Friday afternoon at 3 pm with the fixture starring Spain and rookie Montenegro before the local heroes play Hungary at 6 pm to round out the program of the opening day.
