In the other match of the day the home heroines of Bulgaria completed their campaign in the prelims by seeing off Turkey 3:1 (21-17, 21-17, 18-21, and 21-14) to cement their leadership in Pool A.
“We hope we can improve on today’s performance and show something better next week as we play the finals before our fans” Bulgaria’s head coach Marcello Abbondanza said.
“I am glad that all of our players are fit and will do our best to win the European League next week” he added hoping to improve on last year’s silver medal as Bulgaria lost the final match to the Czechs.
