Girls from Dominican Republic made a huge upset with their win over 2011 World Champions, Turkey.

Game started as everyone expected as Turkey got the lead after the first set but then the turnaround begun. The following set was the most exciting, Dominican girls won the thrilling set with 30:28 score. That was the beginning of the end for Turkish squad.

Third and fourth set were very one sided and Dominican Republic got the well deserved win 3-1 (16-25, 30-28, 25-18, 25-17). In this do-or-die battle, Elizabeth Brayelin Martinez led Dominican Republic with 29 points including 22 kills from 55 determined attempts, while Pelin Aroguz scored a match-high 23 points for Turkey.
