Sada Cruzeiro’s players
William Arjona, captain of Sada Cruzeiro: It was a good game very complicated for the first two sets. The strategy was to receive and pass well. Our team took a comfortable advantage in the third set playing well especially in the side outs. Our tendency is to grow and improve in the basic plays with each match without thinking too much about the opponent.
Tolinson Aquino, captain of Deportivo La Romana: Congratulations to Sada Cruzeiro, a team with very high level. We went out to battle but made too many errors with our serves. But also you must give the deserved credit to the opponent and their great players.
Marcelo Mendez, coach of Sada Cruzeiro: The first two sets were very tense. Then we gradually improved our attack and then established our system of blocking and defense. The first game is always a bit complicated for all teams.
Osiel Vazquez, coach of Deportivo La Romana: It was very hard for us to start playing against the home team. All the Brazilian teams are strong. We couldn’t stop their offense down the middle but in general terms I am satisfied despite many mistakes with our serves. The boys did a good performance.
