“My team has got the potential to play some good matches” says Latvian head coach Jurijs Deveikus. “I hope that we are going to show a good performance in this tournament. All players are in good shape and these are good news for us.”
Latvia’s women’s junior national team is also set to compete at the EEVZA Championship coming up this weekend in Krosno, Poland where they will play the home heroines as well as the national teams of Russia and Estonia. Latvia head coach Ilmars Pulins was upset as two players of the starting six could not travel to Krosno as they are injured.
“This makes me sad but we know that this tournament is going to be a good experience for the team.”
