In the semifinals, the current trophy holders, AJF Bastardo, beat CA Madalena by 3:1 (25-21, 25-27, 25-16, 25-23), while Castelo da Maia edged the current national champion SL Benfica by 3:1 (16-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-22).
Castelo da Maia won the trophy on 5 occasions – in 1994, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2010, while the single victory for Fonte Bastardo was achieved last year against Vitória de Guimarães.
The Cup Final will be organized by the Portuguese Volleyball Federation, Coimbra City Hall and Coimbra Volleyball Association. This will be the fourth time that the city hosts this important competition.
