VB NÖ Sokol/Post won the 2021/22 Women’s Austrian Volley Cup, which was their 26th title in the competition and the first one in 6 years. The Lower Austrians prevailed in the final in Zwettl over TI-wellwasser®-volley in 72 minutes: 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-21). For the Innsbruck side, it was the 5th attempt for their first cup title, and for the 5th time, they failed against Sokol, the record champions of the competition. Not even the fact that they had beaten STEELVOLLEYS Linz-Steg, the reigning national champions and cup winners, wasn’t enough for TI volley to complete a historic result. As for Sokol, they made it into the final after turning around a 2-set deficit against UVC Holding Graz in the match that was postponed 2 times.
Aida Mehić top-scored Sokol in the decider with 15 points and was named MVP. Sophie Haselsteiner made 72% reception (18 digs, 3 errors, 28% excellent).
