The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF) appointed the new head coach of the women’s national team.
The BVF approved the candidacy of Lorenzo Micelli for a new head coach of the women’s national team.
For the last 3 seasons, the Italian expert has been coaching France’s Volero Le Cannet. For the past decade, the 51-year-old coach has been building his career outside his home country, with the exception of 2016/17. Micelli had most successes while working in Turkey (2 national titles, Cups, and Super Cups apiece with Eczacıbaşı Dynavit) and Poland (took the national Cup and CEV Cup with PGE ATOM Trefl Sopot).
Commanding Bulgaria Women won’t be Micelli’s first experience on the national team bench as he was in charge of Estonia Women’s National Team (2019-2021) as well as an assistant coach in Italy Women’s National Team (2003-2010).
