In the tie-break of the big match valid for Round 12 of 2021/22 Brazilian Women’s Volleyball Championship, Sesc RJ Flamengo beat Sesi Vôlei Bauru and broke rival’s winning streak.
In a highly disputed Round 12’s game of the 2021/22 Women’s Superliga, Sesc Flamengo grew in the tie-break against Sesi Bauru and put an end to the undefeated series of the Paulistas, which had lasted for 4 games in the competition. Partially, it was 22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-23, and 15-7. The Rio de Janeiro side abused Sesi Bauru’s mistakes in the 5th set, opening the period with 8-1 and calmly finishing the encounter at home. With 25 points, Monique Pavão from the winning team was the highest scorer. With the result, Sesc Flamengo went to 31 points and got close to the Top-4, taking 5th place in the charts. Sesi Bauru fell to 3rd place, with 36 points.
In an exciting match, Fluminense stunned Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde with a score of 3-2, coming back twice in the game as the favored São Paulo side took the 1st and 3rd set. Osasco played the first of 3 consecutive matches on the road, not starting the tour in a good manner. Losing to Fluminense left Luizomar Moura’s ladies in 4th place, now with 34 points, but what goes in their favor is the fact that they played two fewer matches than the remainder of the Top-4. Fluminense rose to 6th place in the standings with 28 points.
