This win marks a significant turnaround for the young Ljubljana team, who have shown remarkable improvement since their initial defeat in the season’s first derby. Their recent experiences in the CEV Champions League have evidently bolstered their performance. In contrast, Calcit Volley struggled with the absence of key player Nik Mujanović, now with Monza.

The match was a rollercoaster of emotions and momentum shifts. Calcit Volley initially had the upper hand, missing a chance to lead in the first set. However, ACH Volley, driven by Nikola Gjorgiev’s stellar performance including a crucial ace, seized the opportunity to lead. Calcit Volley bounced back, equalizing in the second set. They continued to play well and won the third set as well. The home team rallied back in the fourth to force a deciding fifth set. Despite a strong challenge from Calcit, ACH Volley clinched the match.

The match’s standout players were Alen Šket and Jan Pokeršnik for ACH Volley, each contributing 14 points. For Calcit, Lazaro Brunet and Tomislav Mitrašinović made significant impacts, scoring 22 and 19 points respectively.
