AZE W: USA libero committed to Rabita

Haley Jacob is 23-year-old libero, who last season played for TSV DÜDINGEN and helped the club to take 5th place in the Swiss national league thereby qualifying for the 2015 edition of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup, joined the last year’s champions of the Azerbaijani Superleague, Rabita BAKU, for a three-season commitment.

As Rabita Baku closes its 2014-15 line-up with Jacob, they’ve created a competitive and dynamic squad; fans in Azerbaijan and worldwide will have the opportunity to watch one of the best talents to come of out NCAA Volleyball in the past 2 years when the club’s season begins in the fall of 2014. 

Haley said “The road to this point has been an awesome one. I was blessed to get the opportunity to play at the University of Oregon where I was able to work with great teammates and an amazing coaching staff. There I was able to really build an understanding for the game and compete. My expectations for Rabita are simple: I want to work hard, get better and help the team in any possible way. Oh, and winning wouldn’t be too bad either.”

Jacob shows her leadership and humility by stating “I would like to thank God and previous teammates for helping me get this far. Throughout my career I’ve always tried to keep pushing myself to achieve new targets and this represents another important goal for me. I am very excited to get started and hope that I will be a great asset to the team.”

On the prospect of playing in the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League, she commented: “I’m excited and can’t wait to see be a part of something so great.”
