Her family has announced that Ghoncheh was freed because of health problems and that she will stay with her parents in Tehran awaiting a decision by the Court of Appeal. She has staged hunger strikes against her detention, which is probably the cause of the health problems.
Ms Ghavemi’s brother, Iman Ghavami, said for British media: “She has been bailed until her court appeal, when she hopes to be cleared of all charges. She was bailed for £20,000 and now wants to spend time with her family.”
Ghoncheh Ghavami was released from prison on Sunday – the day before her 26th birthday!
