The Power Cup – that celebrates this year its 28th edition – will take place at “Kupitaa” outdoor area, which is situated right in the heart of the city of Turku (see picture). A total of 256 Volleyball courts are being set up there to host the 4’500 matches that will be played this weekend throughout the four days of the competition.
On Friday the many children attending the Power Cup will enjoy the opportunity to attend a friendly match played by the women’s national teams of Finland and Great Britain. The Brits have been spending a couple of weeks in Finland as they prepare for the London Olympics and are set to play four friendlies against the local national team, including one in Turku.
Finland’s harbor city will be visited this weekend also by the members of the CEV Board of Administration whose meeting is scheduled for this Saturday and will be preceded by a session of the CEV Executive Committee on Friday.
