QAT M: Al Rayyan dominant, first win for Qatar SC and Al Wakrah, brilliant Janušek

Al Rayyan SC is superb at the start of the Qatar championship with all three wins!

Current title holder had only a slight problem at a home court against the team that holds the lantern in the standings, Al Sadd/Sadd SC Doha – 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 21-25, 25-17) in the 4th round.

Qatar international, Mubarak Dahi Waleed, was the top scorer for Al Rayyan with 17, while Cuban with the German passport Salvador Hidalgo added 13.

In Al Sadd, Bosnian Đorđe Knežević scored 16 and Brazilian André Ricardo Lukianetz 15 points.

There was drama in two other matches of the fourth round, both were derbies of the lower half of the table.

Qatar SC noted its first win this season, against Al-Shamal SC, after a tie-break. Qatar SC trailed 2-1 in sets, but thanks to Brazilian duo Alex Jangada (23) – Rafael Camargo da Silva (19) and Algerian Tauffik Mahgoubi (22) managed to make the turnaround.

In Al-Shamal, Slovak international Peter Janušek collected 31 and Montenegrin Vladimir Bojić had 22 points.

Al Wakrah beat Al Gharafa SC in five sets, also for its first victory in the championship.
