Gundars Celitans had an outstanding last season in Turkey wearing a shirt of Istanbul BBSK. He was among the top scorers in the league, but during the summer it was only announced that strong opposite would leave the club. The reason was – Celitans had to undergo shoulder surgery.

“I have had problems with that shoulder for the past couple of years and I just had to undergo surgery. Last season, there were moments when I literally could not lift a hand in the morning. The surgery went fine and I am still in the rehabilitation program. It is too early to start with trainings. I hope that I will be able to play volleyball on the highest level again. If not, I will have to figure out what other things I can do in my life” said Celitans for Latvian newspapers Diena.
