The Russian Andrei Smirnov signed the contract with the last placed team in Turkish championship to one and a half year.

Yeşilyurt parted ways with Mehmet Yücel due to poor results in the league – all 13 losses and no points won.

Smirnov was born in 1960 and came to Turkey with 10 years of coaching experience in the Russian league. He arrived from the Russian Division 2 member, Tyumen-TyumGU, which had to shut down.

Smirnov coached, among the others, Dinamo Krasnodar, Voronezh and Russian youth and junior national team.
