The number of teams participating in the male Champions League will be 28. Twenty-four will be placed directly while the CEV awarded 4 wild cards – to Noliko Maaseik (BEL), PGE Skra Bełchatów (POL), Vojvodina NS Seme Novi Sad (SRB) and Ziraat Bankası (TUR).
Seven groups consisting of four teams each will be assembled in the draw in Vienna, on July 2.
The format of the competition hasn’t changed for the women’s Champions League as well. Six pools of four teams each will be drawn. Three wild cards went to – Azerrail Baku (AZE), Nordmeccanica Rebecchi Piacenza (ITA) and Impel Wrocław (POL).
After the group phase in both competitions, Playoff 12 and Playoff 6 will be played. The Final Four tournaments will be held on April 9-10 (women) and April 16-17 (men).
