South Americans easily cruised past Mexico 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-16) with 16 points from Sada Cruzeiro’s opposite hitter Alan Souza.

Other domination was seen in Pool A clash between the hosts and Iran. As expected, Iranians didn’t have too many difficulties against the UAE 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-20).

Javad Hosseinabadi from Iran stood out in the match with 11 points.

Cuba also scored a straight-set victory in Pool A, but had to fight hard for each one against South Korea.

Central American side was led by Osmany Santiago Uriarte Mestre, a player whose destiny will be determined by FIVB after the tournament as he signed two contracts this summer. He collected 14 points.
