„It was interesting to play against Marouf, because he is the player who can change the strategy of the team and course of the match. In the first set Iran dominated – they played better than us. We could win the second set, but their volleyball was at the highest level,“ commented Polish head coach Stéphane Antiga on the match and Marouf’s play.
„We are very happy with the win against Iran. We have not started so well, as we have hoped and they played fantastic volleyball. We were a little nervous, but despite these circumstances, we managed to win 3-2. I am extremely happy that we have not lost and we will continue our march to victory in this tournament,“ the captain of Poland, Michał Kubiak, did not hide his satisfaction.
