Poland brought fear into bones of Australian players from the very start with perfect and shattering spikes from Kurek and Buszek, while the „Aussies“ put all the effort in one man – Thomas Edgar. Not enough, 25-15.
At the beginning of the second set, Kurek added blocking to his play and soon it was 6-2. Australia knew that Edgar can’t beat Poland alone so, it started to play more through the middle, giving the chance to Mote to stand out, but Kurek was stunning 25-22.
Poland poured aces like rain in this match and with two consecutive from Kurek it was 7-1 in Set 3. Edgar kept playing on a high level, but Poland was on fire 25-17.
Bartosz Kurek was the MVP with 21 points while Poland had impressive 13 aces on its account! On the other side, Thomas Edgar had 17.
