Hyundai’s five-game winning streak was interrupted on the final day of previous year and they started 2016 with hope to begin a new one.
Hyundai defeated Seoul GS Caltex Kixx in away match 3-1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-23, 25-19) and escaped two victories from second-placed Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders.
American Emily Hartong was the star of the match with 30 points for the winners. Yang Hyo-Jin added 19.
In Caltex, American Katherine Bell had 28 points (5 blocks) while Bae Yoo-Na contributed with 14.
