Without any pressure on their shoulders, Russia’s National Team confirmed pole position in Pool B before the semifinals at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Ankara, Turkey.

’Zbornaya’ swept away poor Belgium who now depends on others, to be more specific – on Poland! But, bad news for the ’Yellow Tigers’ is that the Polish ladies have their calculation as well.

The only outcome that is suitable for Belgium is Poland’s 3-2 win against Italy (18:30 CET). Any other victory of Poland, or Italy’s win, will eliminate Belgian NT from the tournament and leave them without Rio ticket.

Nataliya Obmochaeva scored 20 while Tatyana Kosheleva added 15 points for Russia.

Lise van Hecke with 15 points was the only player in the losing team with double digits. Not enough to keep Rio hopes more vivid.
