Dmitriy Kovalev, the setter of the Russian National Team, torn ligaments of the ankle and finished his participation at the Qulaifying Tournament for the Olympics, in Berlin.

As Russian media report, Kovalev does not need hospitalization, but won’t be able to play in remaining matches of Russia at the Qualifications.

Kovalev landed badly in the first game of Russia at the tournament, against France (1-3), and left the court on a stretcher.

He was replaced by Sergey Grankin, who will now remain the only setter in ‘Zbornaya’ in Berlin.
