Stanislav Shevchenko, the president of the Russian Volleyball Federation and the vice-president of CEV, revealed for R-Sport some details from the meeting.

“There was a discussion on changes in the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Games. We have reached an unanimous decision that it is necessary to change the current format. Everything is based on the fact that the European champion should receive a direct ticket for the Olympic Games. Still, CEV can only suggest such a change, while the FIVB have to make the final decision. Also, we had an interesting discussion on the possible changes in the Champions League format, but we haven’t reached any decision yet,” said Shevchenko.
