Colombia’s Olympic dream seems quite distant, but is still alive as the South American side beat Algeria in straight sets at the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-18).

Colombia needed just this kind of victory in the last round to keep hoping they will advance to the Olympics in Rio. But if the hosts Puerto Rico take only one set in their match against Kenya, they will qualify for the Olympic Games and leave Colombia behind.

Madelaynne Montaño and Amanda Coneo topped Colombia‘s scorers with 8 points each. Yasmine Abderrahim had 9 in the national team from Africa.
