Maiko Kano, the Japan National Team player who announced sudden retirement one year ago, returned to the professional volleyball.

Former receiver/outside hitter and setter (transformed into that position by Kumi Nakada, her coach in Hisamitsu Springs, in the season 2012/2013) signed with Japanese Division 2 (V-Challenge League) team PFU BlueCats.

While playing for Hisamitsu Springs, the 28-year-old Kano took two gold medals in the Japanese Championship (V-League) and one at the Asian Club Championship as well as the bronze medal with Japan National Team at the 2012 London Olympics.
