The FIVB world No.19 Japan, which captured the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and the 2009 Asian meet, still lived up to the audiences’ expectation after making a clean sweep in Pool A with a scintillating 25-18 25-19 25-15 victory over Myanmar.

Tactically and technically, Japan took control of the whole game, with Hidetomo Hoshino and Takashi Dekita pleasing the spectators with their awesome form of acrobatic spikes from all angles.

Japanese Hidetomo Hoshino scored a match-high 11 points, while Aung Myat Tun bagged the highest 10 points for Myanmar.

Japan emerged as the Pool A winners following a remarkable run without losing a set to their respective rivals, while Myanmar did not win a single match to finish fourth place in the pool.

Tuesday is the rest day. The competition resumes the playoffs on Wednesday, with top teams of each pool taking on the fourth of the cross pool and the second place playing the third place of the cross pool.
