Hekmati Javad was the best scorer of the winning side with 17 points followed by Valaei Akabar with 14. Jeong dong-Geun was the only player to reach double figure for the losing side with 10.
The Iranians had the edge in blocks 11-6 and held the advantage in spikes 50-40. Koreans had a slim edge in service 4-3.
Head coach of Korean Kim Young-Il said “Iran is a great team, we got high blocks from Iran. Height of Iran players is strong point, their service and block was fantastic. In second set our team combination was good and lead Iranian.”
Head coach of Iran Iraj Mozaffari said “In first set we were strong. Hitting service and getting use of returning balls helped us a lot. Korean services were sharp and heavy in the second set. Our services were weak. Our second setter did good performance. Our blockers could not make timing for jump to defense the rival spikes.”
