Chinese Taipei came from 1-2 behind to edge Sri Lanka in a five-set match. Huang Hsiang-Yuang collected 20 points followed by Chen Chao-Ming, Hsieh Yi-Ting and Lin Sheng-Yu who contributed 17, 12 and 11 respectively. Sri Lanka’s Senanayaka Ravindu also recorded 20 points in the losing cause while Harambage Ishan Wimarshana added 15 points.

After winning the first set with ease, Chinese Taipei started the second set with too much relaxation, assuming they could win the match, while their opponents had great longing for victory, putting up a and rallied to take two sets, leading 2-1. In the fourth and fifth set, Chinese Taipei side played exceptionally well with perfect spikes, helping them to take the match.

Head coach of Chinese Taipei Chiu Pao-Szu said “First set was very well with good spirit of my players, but in second and third sets our players did not made great efforts and looked too relaxed. We lost those sets. I requested my players to be serious and play in their normal pace. They concentrated on the game so we won the match.
