China’s block provided a 10-3 difference over Japan to go along with a 39-29 advantage in attacks. Japan held a slim 3-2 margin in service aces. Tang Chuanhang spiked for China with 12, while Zhnag Zhejia added 12, including five blocks. Ishikawa Yuki and Hisahara Tsubasa charted 13 and 10 points respectively for Japan.
Head coach of Japan Honda Hiroshi said: “Our reception were not good and our services were weak too.”
Ju Gengyin, head coach of China commented “Both teams are in the same level Japanese team made more mistakes than us. Semi-final and final will prove which team is the best team. Both of us played well, services of Japan were weak.”
