The No.4 seed Aluron Virtu Warta Zawiercie upset ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle in Game 1 and was so close to eliminating main title favorites from the Plus Liga 2018/2019 playoff semifinals after gaining a two-set lead in Game 2 at home. ZAKSA failed to keep a four-point lead in each of these two sets and the end to their title hopes was just about the corner. But, the side coached by Italian Andrea Gardini managed to make a full turnaround and tie the series at 1-1: 3-2 (16-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-12).
Belgian Sam Deroo top-scored for ZAKSA with 20 points while Łukasz Wiśniewski made 80% excellent attack (10 kills, eight perfect). Portuguese international Alexandre Ferreira put down 30 points (four aces) for Aluron Virtu.
