After an exhausting battle that lasted nearly three hours, the fourth seed Fakel Novy Urengoy beat No.5 seed Belogorie Belgorod in Game 3 of the 2018/19 Superliga playoff quarterfinals: 3-2 (25-21, 17-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-8). Thus, Fakel won the series by a 2-1 and grabbed the last vacant ticket for the semifinals in which they will play titleholders Zenit Kazan.
Egor Kliuka with 20 points and Dmitriy Kolenkovskiy with six kill blocks (out of тhe team’s 17) were the most deserving players for allowing Fakel to continue their fight for medals in Superliga. Denis Zemchenok scored 22 points for Belogorie while Serbian Nemanja Petrić served as much as seven aces.
