The 2014 FIVB World Championship winner Mateusz Mika is a new player of Indykpol AZS Olsztyn. A 28-year-old outside hitter recently parted ways with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów.
In addition to Mika, Olsztyn signed two more players for the 2019/20 season. A 19-year-old opposite hitter Remigiusz Kapica from Tauron AZS Częstochowa youth team and a 27-year-old setter Tomasz Kowalski from MKS Będzin.
Olsztyn also engaged a new head coach – Italian Paolo Montagnani. He started his coaching career in Women’s volleyball but spent the most of it working in the Men’s. Montagnani was at the helm of several teams in his home country, even led Italy national team in 2012, and in Japan (Suntory Sunbirds). Last season, he won Italian Division 2 survival for Acqua Fonteviva Apuana Livorno.
