Jastrzębski are on fire! After beating Zenit Kazan from Russia in the 2020 CEV Champions League, a few days ago, they surpassed one more European powerhouse. In round 16 of the 2019/20 PlusLiga regular season, the team coached by Serbian Slobodan Kovač, inflicted the 2nd consecutive defeat in the competition to the titleholders ZAKSA: 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 26-28, 25-18, 15-10).
Dawid Konarski and Tomasz Fornal put down 24 points apiece for the winning side, while the Frenchman Julien Lyneel served 5 aces. Kamil Semeniuk scored 22 points for ZAKSA. With the 9th successive victory in the PlusLiga regular season, but also thanks to a defeat of Trefl Gdańsk (2-3 vs. GKS Katowice), Jastrzębski firmed themselves in the 4th place in the charts. On the other hand, ZAKSA are now 2 points behind the leaders VERVA Warszawa ORLEN Paliwa.
