Developres
After 4 months (actually after nearly 4 months – since October 6) and the Super Cup, Chemik lost their first match. Developres was the first team to beat them this season, counting all competitions, and did it by coming back from 0-2 in sets. Chemik’s unbeaten run consisted of 20 victories! At the same time, by prevailing in the big match of Round 17 of the 2019/20 Liga Siatkówki Kobiet regular season, the team coached by Stéphane Antiga, the vice-leaders, extended their own winning streak in the league to 8 games, reducing the gap in the charts in relation to Chemik to only 2 points. For the first 2 sets, Developres couldn’t catch their rhythm. The opening set lasted for 36 minutes and had as many as 10 video challenges! The visiting side started to make up for the losses from the 3rd set, led by American Alexandra Frantti and Katarzyna Zaroślińska-Król (16 points apiece). Kamila Witkowska set up 6 kill blocks. In Chemik, who couldn’t count on starting outside hitter Natalia Mędrzyk due to knee problems, Cuban Wilma Salas put down 26 points.
ŁKS Commercecon Łódż beat Bank Pocztowy Pałac Bydgoszcz in 4 sets to take over the 3rd place in the charts from Grot Budowlani Łódź.
