POLISH CUP M: ZAKSA win title in competition for 8th time, Semeniuk MVP

Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle won the 2021 Polish Men’s Volleyball Cup.

Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle are the winners of the 2021 Polish Men’s TAURON Puchar Polski.

In the final in Kraków, the team coached by Serbian Nikola Grbić beat Jastrzębski Węgiel in straight sets, partially 25-20, 27-25, and 25-15. ZAKSA won the trophy in the competition for the 8th time, the 2nd time in a row (the last season’s edition wasn’t held due to the Covid-19 pandemic). Interestingly, in 3 attempts, Jastrzębski failed to overcome the Kędzierzyn-Koźle side in the decider in any of them.

ZAKSA’s outside hitter Kamil Semeniuk won the MVP award. He was the top scorer of his team in the final match with 14 points. Jakub Kochanowski set up 4 blocks. Moroccan Mohamed Al Hachdadi tallied 16 points for Jastrzębski. Rafał Szymura served 4 aces.
