Matti Oivanen

Matti Oivanen was born on 26 May 1986 in Huittinen in Finland. He began playing volleyball at the age of 9 years. Profesional career began in 2001, when at the age of fifteen he made his debut in the Finnish club Kiikoisten Kirma.

Three years later he received valuable award – Best new player of the Finnish league, and after next three – the best server.

He played in various leagues in Europe. He played in the French league, two years he played in the Italian Serie A – in Copra PIACENZA (2009/2010) and Volley Forli (2010/2011), and in the Russian Superleague, in Gubernya NIZHNY NOVOGROD (2011/2012).

Polish fans Matti Oivanen often associats with his twin brother – Mikko, who played three years in PlusLiga.

Oivanen is Finland national team player. Matti played over 158 international matches for the Finnish national team. Earlier, in the junior squad  he played over 30 games.
