The Assembly was opened by EEVZA President Vladimir Patkin (RUS) who did deserve a warm welcome to CEV President André Meyer who had traveled to Lvov to attend the meeting hosted this year by the Ukrainian Volleyball Federation.
After a short speech delivered by the CEV President, Mr. Patkin informed all attendees that some weeks ago the EEVZA had received a request for affiliation by the Georgian Volleyball Federation whose membership was unanimously accepted by the 8 federations in attendance. By welcoming Georgia into the EEVZA family, CEV President André Meyer and EEVZA President Vladimir Patkin did congratulate Mr. Chachua wishing the Georgian Volleyball family much success in their efforts to develop Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in their country.
Upon approval of the agenda, the delegates could study and approve the calendar for the next competitions placed under the authority of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association as well as the relevant Competitions Regulations and other plans for the development of the sport across all member countries.
