Itas Trentino has secured new addition to its roster with the signing of Simon Torwie, a promising middle blocker from Germany. Standing at 208 cm and just 22 years old, Torwie is already turning heads on the international stage.

Currently representing Germany in the 2025 Volleyball Nations League, he’s delivered standout performances — tallying 60 points in eight matches, with 22 blocks and a solid 51% attack success rate. Despite his youth, Torwie brings experience from Spain, Germany, the U.S. college system at Long Beach State, and most recently from a Champions League season with SVG Lüneburg.
Trentino’s head coach Marcelo Mendez, who first spotted him during a Champions League match, called him “a player with huge physical and technical potential.” Torwie joins on a two-year deal and will debut with the rarely worn number 33 jersey.
