Belcik – a double European champion in 2003 and 2005, and a bronze medalist in 2009 – has won two more editions of the Polish national league in her career. This past season she was one of the key players for Atom being awarded MVP twice first after the regular season game with PTPS PILA and once more after the last match of the Championship series with Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA. She contributed to Atom Trefl success in the national league by scoring 34 aces and 38 blocks. Belcik also played superbly in the final of the national cup where she was voted „best setter” of the tournament. Via these performances she eventually was included by head coach Piotr Makowski on the roster of Poland’s national team for the upcoming international season where the ladies in red and white jerseys are set to join the FIVB World Grand Prix as well as the final round of the European Championship.
This past Friday she signed another one-year contract with Atom Trefl thereby joining Mariola Zenik and Zuzanna Efimienko who have also been contracted for the next season alongside young setter Natalia Gajewska and middle-blocker Justyna Lukasik.
„The organization of the club is improving year after year and I had nothing to complain this past season, so even though I had received another offer from a club abroad, I decided to stay here in Sopot” Belcik concludes.
